DJ Magrão

I usually save March strictly for the ladies but our friend DJ Magrão was in town and I was so happy to have him on the show. I started out with a set of songs that all had female names and then Magrão took over the second hour with some KILLER 90s tunes and went back in time from that. All vinyl. Check the archive above.

01.02.14 - Sister Nancy, Super Cat & More

Happy Earthstrong out to Sister Nancy, I start the show out with some classics of hers as well as some from her big brother Briggy. I also pulled a bunch of Super Cat for you since he had just performed in Jamaica for the first time in over 12 years at the 30th Anniversary of Sting International. Check out more on this over at LargeUp. The show is filled with many Super Cat gems as well as Ninja Man, Early B, Charlie Chaplin and more. Check the archive!

10.03.13 - White Mice, early Dancehall and Rub A Dub

LISTEN TO THE ARCHIVE AT JAMAICAROCK.COM

I was in the mood to play some of my favorite 80s and 90s dancehall and Rub a Dub (maybe some very late 70s?) for you this show, beginning with the Shank I Sheck riddim. Then to celebrate the birthday of reggae artist White Mice, the set is inspired by and layered with some of his top tunes.

You can check the archive and playlist (that I try to type as thoroughly as I can while djing) above. Enjoy.
